Volunteer Opportunities at Casa de Vida

With the exception of the Baby’s Closet, many of our volunteer positions are on an occasional or as-needed basis.

Baby’s Closet
Casa de Vida operates a Baby’s Closet which is stocked with diapers, formula, baby clothes, strollers, car seats and more. These items are free to those in the community who are in need. The Baby’s Closet is run entirely by volunteers and is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am until 3:00pm or by appointment. Volunteers are needed to staff the Closet during these hours. Duties include sorting and stocking donations, light cleaning as needed, and assisting clients.

Tutors
We have an occasional need for math tutors.

Art/Craft Instructor
We need someone who can come up with fun, seasonal crafts for our residents. We are flexible as to how often we would offer art/craft classes (weekly, monthly, on a special event basis.) We have supplies on hand and volunteers for this position are welcome to come by and look at what we have in order to plan their classes.

Administrative/Errands
The Executive Director has an occasional need for administrative help such as opening mail, filing, running mail to the post office, picking up donations, and answering telephones. We also have an occasional need for someone to fill in at the main house answering the telephone and accepting donations.

Bulk Mailing
When we do our bulk mailing we need help with stuffing and sealing envelopes, and labeling and sorting.

Birthing Attendant
Are you a doula, retired nurse, or simply interested in serving as a birthing attendant/advocate for Casa de Vida residents during labor? If so, please contact Paula at 329-1070. We need you!
